Friday the 13th Part III is a 1982 American slasher film directed by Steve Miner. It is the sequel to Friday the 13th Part 2 (1981) and the third installment in the franchise. Set directly after the events of the previous film, the plot follows a teenage girl (Kimmell), and her friends who go on a trip to a homestead near Crystal Lake, where an injured Jason Vorhees (Brooker) has taken refuge until re-emerging for another killing spree. The film marks the first appearance of Jason's signature hockey mask, which has since become a trademark of both the character and the franchise, as well as an icon in American cinema and the horror genre.
